Steve is a British qualified Community, Play and Youth Worker and State Recognised Social Worker/Social Pedagogue. He has also trained as a Solution Focused practitioner. After graduating from the University of Birmingham in 2001, Steve has worked as a Social Worker, Early Childhood Teacher/Administrator and as a K-12 International School Counsellor in Germany. Steve joined BBIS, the Berlin Brandenburg International School GmbH in 2008, and has since continued his professional training here in Berlin and with the Institute of Education and BRIEF in London.
As part of his role in the Secondary School, he delivers prevention based social and emotional learning (SEL) lessons, via the guidance and PSHE programmes, supports faculty and parents with advice on adolescent issues and is an advocate for young people. In addition to being responsible for the social and emotional welfare of all grade 6-12 day students, Steve also leads the school counselling team in their programme delivery, evaluation and development. |
