Conference 2023

The Kings Centre, Oxford, July 6th & 7th 2023

'The UKASFP 2023 conference has been one of my sparkliest professional experiences this year. The talks were inspiring, the event was well organised but for me, the most wonderful part was the opportunity to network with other solution focused practitioners. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming and there were lots of opportunities to connect and explore. This was also the first time I've presented at a Conference and I couldn't have asked for a more supportive audience. I will definitely be returning for more next year'

Abi Boughton-Thomas, Solution Focused Coach, Therapist and Trainer

Is SF an approach, a set of principles, a collection of tools, a distinctive stance... or something else? A plenary discussion with our wide range of SF practitioners, sharing what’s useful to put forward in our various different circumstances.

UKASFP Annual General Meeting

Dear UKASFP,

A couple months ago, I was amidst the challenges of an academic school year and looking towards the final weeks remaining before summer. I recall my shared hopes (at that time) were to stay in good health and build up the physical and mental strength necessary to continue meeting needs; one student, teacher and parent at a time. It was then that I decided to begin detailing the work that I was encouraged to present at UKASFP and I’m so glad I did.

Fast forward to July, I am now thankful for the opportunity to come and present my thoughts with a group of practitioners that gathered together in Oxford.

What exactly was I pleased to hear, see and experience?

I heard the real impact of stories of success that inspired all of us to make a difference for just one more! I viewed sound research methods detailing the efficacy of our craft. And most of all, I experienced mindful collegiality around a shared preferred future; to be potently present with our clients.

I remain, days after returning to Germany, thrilled with the insights and connections made in the course of two action-packed days. I so appreciated the welcoming reception from everyone and look forward to the possibilities that lie ahead.

A big thank you to all of the UKASFP participants and your legendary work. I wish you all the best in the weeks ahead and hope to see you again in 2024.

Lance Fortner, Whole School Counsellor, Heidelberg International School
