About the UKASFP

 

The UK Association for Solution Focused Practice has the following aims:

  • To promote Solution Focused Practice in the UK and beyond;
  • To develop standards of SF Practice across all sectors;
  • To encourage research and public awareness about SFP;
  • To support practitioners in their practice whatever their field;
  • To give practitioners the opportunity to network, learn and share.

 

To deliver these aims, we have the following objectives:

  • To be the recognised authority on all aspects of Solution Focused Practice in the UK and beyond
  • To promote an environment in which Solution Focus can be developed and disseminated by our members
  • To support the professional development of a national body of practitioners up to and including formal accreditation
  • To cultivate, develop and expand our community of Solution Focused members leading to;
  • Greater contributions to research and development of Solution Focused Practice, both theoretical and applied
  • Lobbying persuading and advocating for the approach and its benefits
  • Supporting opportunities for Solution Focus to be placed centrally as a practice, whose purpose is to transform the aspirations thoughts, and behaviours of people seeking personal change.

 

UKASFP Membership is open to all

There are no training or qualification requirements, and members are welcome from outside the UK

Company Registration

UKASFP is a Private Limited Company by guarantee without share capital use of 'Limited' exemption, registered with Companies House in England & Wales, Company Registration Number: 7867301

Current Company Directors (i.e. those listed at Companies House) are Katie Turner, Shona Horsman, Chris Ward, Joel Marks and Tim Newton, who can be contacted via admin@ukasfp.org.

The role of our Company Directors is to ensure that decisions and operations are legal and are in the best interests the association and membership, compliant with our Articles of Association.

In practice, we aspire for the UKASFP to be an open, welcoming, and participative organisation that reflects the values of the Solution Focussed approach. Currently, a Business Group including the statutory directors meets once a month to co-ordinate. The Business Group can be contacted via admin@ukasfp.org

 

Annual General Meetings

Our AGMs are held for members at our Annual Conference, in accordance with Part 3 of our Articles of Association, though tend to be more informal and open to discussion.
