In this workshop, I will provide the legal and policy context for which children and young people’s additional support needs (ASN) are recognised in Scotland. Multiagency meetings are a forum where the planning and review of support for these ASNs occur. A Solution Focused approach has been adopted for these meetings in Highland (Alexander & Sked, 2010). I will discuss the changing practice observed over the last 20 years and offer a comparison of problem focused and solution focused principles impacting the outcome of meetings which illustrates doing more with less. I will conclude with an outline of a quality improvement project.

Participants can expect to come away with a detailed analysis of the format adopted in Highland for multiagency Solution Focused meetings. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss the development of a fidelity measure for Solution Focused meetings.
