In Solution-Focused Practice (SFP), the focus is on what’s working, where change is possible, and how to build on strengths—rather than getting stuck in problems. Improv works the same way.  This highly interactive, 1-hour workshop blends Solution-Focused Practice (SFP) principles with improvisational theatre techniques to help participants develop adaptability, deep listening, and solution-focused thinking. Through a series of engaging improv exercises, attendees will practice identifying strengths, spotting “exceptions,” and co-constructing solutions in the moment—core SFP concepts in action.

The 1 hour workshop session includes: -

  • Warm-up exercises to enhance spontaneity and active listening. -
  • Improv games focused on "Yes, and" thinking to reinforce momentum-based collaboration.
  • Scenario-based storytelling to help participants visualize their "preferred future."
  • Debrief & application discussion to bridge improv techniques with workplace problem-solving.

This workshop provides a fun, experiential way to explore SFP principles, showing how thinking fast and flexibly leads to more effective communication, decision-making, and team cohesion.

Participants will leave with practical, solution-focused tools they can immediately apply in coaching, leadership, and organisational development. They will:  -

  • Shift from problem-focus to solution-focus by recognising strengths & small wins. -
  • Improve adaptability & resilience in uncertain situations. -
  • Develop deep listening & co-construction skills through engaging improv exercises. -
  • Enhance creative problem-solving by embracing spontaneity. -
  • Experience SFP principles in action, making them easier to integrate into daily practice.

By the end of the session, participants will have a renewed confidence in their ability to navigate challenges, plus a toolkit of improv-based strategies to support collaborative, forward-thinking conversations in their work.
